If you’re thinking of moving, it’s good to get a feel for what different areas have to offer, and with Halloween and Bonfire night just around the corner, it’s a great opportunity for us to highlight some of the fang-tastic events available in our areas that are sure to lift your spirits…

Priory Farm Estate, Nutfield, Redhill

Priory Farm Estate is a great place to visit all year round, but its efforts at Halloween are fantastic. The Discovery Land Halloween Trail is great for families, were you can help Fern, Timber and Pebble unravel the mystery caused by the Mud Monsters. Pick your own Pumpkins Tractor and Trailer Rides provides an unforgettable pumpkin picking experience or you can choose the park and pick option, from just £4.

Gatton Park, Reigate

Gatton Park doesn’t disappoint this half term, with “Room on the Broom” by Julia Donaldson on 25 October for 2-4 year olds, children can listen to the story and then take part in a craft activity and enjoy a trail around the garden. On 29th October, they are hosting an open day – Halloween Wizards and Witches, with spooky trails and activities for children to enjoy.

RHS Wisley, Surrey

A little further out is RHS Wisley, which has its October half term event, Spooktacular Fun. This is a fangtastic family trail which allows children to have fun whilst adults can enjoy everything the gardens have to offer. There are also ‘ghostly’ seed planting activities, craft activities and even a chance to make your own candle.

Fireworks and Bonfires

Reigate and Redhill are spoilt for choice when it comes to bonfires and fireworks. Godstone Farm has a Low Bangs Fireworks event, which has less noise than your traditional display and so is perfect for children or adults alike who are less keen on the noise.  This year it is choreographed to the music of movies, and you could combine this with a visit during the day to the farm which is full of Halloween themed fun. Local schools also host a number of events, including the firework event at Wray Common Priory School, which Halliwell Marks is proud to sponsor.

The Brockham Bonfire is another event worth a visit, and is one of the largest firework displays in Surrey. It is a traditional family night which also raises funds for local societies and charities.
